Porcelian Veneers

Of all the methods available today for changing and improving the look of your smile, porcelain veneers are among the most popular and successful.

The process involves removing a small amount of tooth structure to make room for the veneers. The dental lab then fabricates the veneers from impressions.

Once your veneers are permanently placed, they will feel like a natural part of your teeth, and you can use them just as you would your regular teeth. However, veneers are not indestructible. To protect your veneers from chipping, avoid biting down into hard substances. Slice apples before eating them. Avoid bad habits like chewing on fingernails, pencils, or paperclips and clenching or grinding your teeth.

Main advantages of porcelain veneers over bonding include increased longevity and resistance to staining.

A Dental crowns brampton is a restoration that covers, or “caps,” a tooth to restore it to its normal shape and size, strengthening and improving the appearance of a tooth.

Crowns are necessary when a tooth is generally broken down and fillings won’t solve the problem. If a tooth is cracked, a crown holds the tooth together to seal the cracks so the damage doesn’t get worse. Crowns are also used to support a large filling when there isn’t enough of the tooth remaining, attach a bridge, protect weak teeth from fracturing, restore fractured teeth, or cover badly shaped or discolored teeth.

Besides visiting your Brampton dentists and brushing twice a day, cleaning between your teeth is vital with crowns. Floss or interdental cleaners are important tools to remove plaque from the crown area where the gum meets the tooth. Plaque in that area can cause dental decay and gum disease.

Teeth Whitening Brampton: Whitening is the most common Cosmetic Dentistry procedure asked about at the dental office. A bright white smile can draw attention and create confidence. You can take several approaches to whiten your teeth.

1. In-Office Whitening If you prefer in office whitening, Dr. Sharma will suggest a procedure that can be done in our office. This procedure is called chairside whitening system. This procedure is safe, effective and fast. In just over an hour your teeth will become dramatically whiter.

2. At Home Bleaching These products contain peroxide(s), which actually bleach the tooth enamel. These products typically rely on percent carbamide peroxide as the bleaching agent. Carbamide peroxide comes in several different concentrations (10%, 16%, 22%). Peroxide-containing whiteners typically come in a gel and are placed in a mouthguard. Usage regimens vary. Some products are used for about twice a day for 2 weeks, and others are intended for overnight use for 1-2 weeks. If you obtain the bleaching solution from your dentist, he or she can make a custom-fitted mouthguard for you that will fit your teeth precisely. Currently, only dentist-dispensed home-use 10% carbamide peroxide tray-applied gels carry the CDA Seal. You also may want to speak with our dentist should any side effects become bothersome. For example, teeth can become sensitive during the period when you are using the bleaching solution. In many cases, this sensitivity is temporary and should lessen once the treatment is finished. Some people also experience soft tissue irritation-either from a tray that doesn’t fit properly or from solution that may come in contact with the tissues.

3. Whitening Toothpaste All toothpaste help remove surface stain through the action of mild abrasives. “Whitening” toothpaste have special chemical or polishing agents that provide additional stain removal effectiveness. Unlike bleaches, the products do not alter the intrinsic color of teeth.
